The Brown family racing karts extends back to the late 60’s. It all began with May and Crawford Brown out for a Sunday afternoon drive in the Adelaide Hills. Whilst passing through the country town of Oakbank, there was a Bitumen kart race meeting in progress. The pair dropped in, had a look and purchased a race kart the following week.
Crawford went on to win 2 Australian AKA Championships, namely1968 (A Limited) and 1970 (125Open.)Crawford also raced on the dirt in the late 80’s early 90’s.

My involvement in karting extends all the way back to 1992 when I first began racing in the Snr National and Clubman light class’s. Working as a Panel Beater for 15 years and then in the aeronautical industry. I spent many years involved in drag racing cars and bikes with also a small stint in speedway. I have always prepared my own engines, and in 1995 I relented to external pressure and agreed to start building engines for others.
